Snowpeople Wedding Invitations

You may look at the title of this post and assume you're about to see Winter themed Wedding invitations.  Well, not exactly.

Two of my favorite people are getting married in October, and it just so happens their last name is (and will be) Snow.

I offered to make them their Wedding invitations.  Here is what I came up with for the invitations and R.S.V.P. cards:

I printed the invitation and R.S.V.P. cards using my good ol' HP 3100 on Papertrey Ink's White Cardstock.

R.S.V.P. cards:

The heart stamp on the R.S.V.P. cards is from Papertrey Ink's Love & Marriage stamp set.

I mounted the printed invitation on Papertrey Ink's black cardstock and put corners over the edges.  The corners are cutout using EK Success' photo corner punch.

The flourishes are from a stamp set I got "way back in the day" and it was not a name brand.  I don't have the package anymore, so I can't tell you who made them.  It was a clearance rack score at one of my favorite paper crafty supply stores. (R.I.P. Memories on Fifth.)  I stamped the flourish using Stampin' Up!'s Cherry Cobbler.  I had to stamp each flourish twice (stamping, then stamping again over the same image) to get the coverage that I wanted.

I originally tried using self-adhesive rhinestones, but they kept falling off.  So I bought some bulk 4mm rhinestones from Amazon.com and adhered them using Scotch's Quick-Dry Adhesive.  (This is quickly becoming my favorite adhesive!)

Note:  This adhesive comes out really quick, so I painted the glue on the invitation where I wanted the rhinestones using a small paint brush.  I then positioned the rhinestone over the glue and set using an x-acto knife.

So, there you have it!  100 Snowpeople invitations.

MAL: Queen Of The Entire Freakin' Universe

I was telling a friend of mine (who also happens to be a manager in my department) about Unity Stamp Co.'s May Kit of the Month.  There's one sentiment in there that I just love.  It states, "It's not east being Queen of the entire freakin' universe."  I told her I really wanted to make a card with it, but I didn't have anyone in mind to be the recipient.  She said, "Hello?!  Me!  I'm Queen of the entire freakin' universe."  I giggled and told her that she would have one coming her way.

I decided to make a hanger for her door instead:

The paper is all Papertrey Ink and the stamps are all from Unity Stamp Co.'s May KOTM.  I colored using Copics.

 Copics: E11, E00, E000, YG09, YG07, YG06, YR09, YR07, YR04, C3, C2, C1

Copics: E11, E00, E000, R39, R27, C10, C9, C7, C6, C5, C4, C3, C2, C1

This one was slightly more complicated.  Copics: E11, E00, E000, B29, B28, B24, BV08, BG17, BG18, YG06, B14, B41, W2, G02, C5, C4, C3, C2, C1.

Giggles For Some Odd Sketch.

Some Odd Girl has challenged us with a Sketch Challenge.  Here is our sketch inspiration:

Here is the card I made:

The card base is Papertrey Ink's white cardstock.  The pattern paper is from Echo Park Paper's Springtime pack.

The image is Some Odd Girl's Giggle Fairy.  Isn't she ah-dorable?!  I colored her using Copics:

Skin: E11, E00, E000, R81
Hair: R27, E19, E17, E15, E13
Skirt: G24, G82, YG03
Shirt: R83, R81
Belt: E17, E15
Wings: C3, C2, C1, [Diamond Stickles!!]
Eyes: B07, B05, B02, B00

The flowers were made using Papertrey Ink's Bloom Builder and random Recollections papers from Michaels.  I attached them using sparkly black brads.  I *love* this die set.  Admittedly, I don't use it very often because it's kind of a pain.  The dots scattered about are actually the scraps from cutting out the blooms.  The sentiment is from a Fiskars Sentiments set.

The leaf cutouts are from Papertrey Ink's Leaf Print dies.

Last but not least, I had to add another picture of the sparkly Stickles.  Ya'll know how much I love my Stickles!

A Tiddly SFYTT

Tomorrow is my Rizzobear's very first dance recital.  She's been waiting for this day for six months, asking me regularly when she gets to dance on stage.  She's had her stage rehearsal and dress rehearsal and has loved the spotlight.  I used this month's SFYTT to make her a "Happy First Dance Recital" card.

Here is out sketch:

Here is the card I made using Tiddly Ink's Be Bold, Be You Ballerina.

The card base is Papertrey Ink's White cardstock.

I colored using Copics.  The Stripes and spots paper are both Simplify Pink and the 'Love, Inspire, Believe' is BoBunny (I believe...?).

Rizzo's Dress: Sewing Project

I saw some super cute fabric at Hancock Fabric and thought it would make the most adorable dress for Rizzobear.  I picked some up, measured the baby, and got to sewing.  Here is the outcome:
