I Now Pronounce You Flutter By Wednesday

Hello Fluttery Friends.

It's time for a new Flutter By Wednesday challenge and this week ANYTHING GOES [using a butterfly or fairy]!

My card this week is wishing the best to some really good friends of mine who just got married:

The card base is PTI's True Black.  The Red is Recollections and the print is from the DCWV Type Art paper pack.

I used Some Odd Girl's 1920's Gwen and Kody and colored them using Copics.  I used Warm Greys (W0 - W5) for the skin and Cool Greys (C1 - C10) for the clothes.  The couples Wedding colors were Black, White, and Red, so I added a pop of R39 and R25 for the red.

The Love ticket is Tim Holtz and I added some tulle in the back to add a bit of interest.  The red butterfly is also Recollections.

I made the flower using the Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartidge and the crystal heart was from the clearance bin and Hancock Fabrics.  [Yay clearance bins!!]

I added some red heart blings for a little extra sparkle/

That's it!  Get out your butterflies or fairies and create anything your crafty heart desires!  Link up to the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge blog to play along!

A Flutter By Sketch!

Hello Fluttery Friends!

Welcome to this week's Flutter By Wednesday Challenge!  We have another wonderful sketch by our own Kathy.

Here is the card I made:

Didn't Kathy give us another wonderful sketch?!   I was excited this week because I didn't use my Copics to color.  When I first started paper crafting, my best stampy friend MAL gave me [long term loan] a set of water color pencils.  I got my first aqua painter pen in my latest Stampin' Up! order, and couldn't wait to play with it.  So, my wonderful Fairy Teddy from Unity Stamp Co is colored up with water color pencils.  You really can't fake the fabulousness of watercolor.

I spiced up the card with some We R Memory Keepers twine and a few Recollections flowers.

That's it!  Get out your butterfly or fairy and head on over to the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge blog to check out Kathy's Sketch and play along!

A Fortunate Smashy Page

Hello Friends!

How is your Saturday night going?  I went to a local haunted house with a friend of mine and was unintentionally assaulted by a terrified teenage girl - despite my reassuring her that I was *not* her Mommy and that I couldn't "save" her.

I came home and actually felt like creating something.  I've been in a major crafty rut lately and my mojo was kidnapped by my day job.  Regardless, tonight I have a new Smash page that was inspired by a fortune cookie.  I know, right?!

After lunch with the hubby and a local Chinese restaurant, I opened by cookie and found that I was "original and creative".  I'm not sure how true it is, but it's certainly an excuse for a new Smash Page!

I used Some Odd Girl's Kimono Kaylee - seemed fitting.  =o D

Now I have a spot for the day when I *finally* find the fortune that says, "HELP!  I'm trapped in a fortune cookie factory!"

I colored Ms. Kaylee using Copics. The clouds are Unity Stamp Co's Written In The Clouds background stamp and the "Fortunes" was cut using the Jubilee Cricut cartridge.

I used Unity Stamp Co's Heart Journal stamp to write down one of my favorite quotes from one of my all time favorite movies, The Phantom Tollbooth.

...and there's the inspiration for it all.  =o )

Any Winged Flutter By Wednesday!

Hello Fluttery Friends!  Welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday Challenge!

This week we have the distinct pleasure of being sponsored by SCACD Stamps!  One lucky crafter could find themselves the winner of a $25 gift card.

You know what else?  It's ANY WINGED CREATURE WEEK!  That's right!  This week we welcome our birdie friends, bumblebee friends, even some dragon friends!  Love fairies and butterflies?  That's fine too!  ANY WINGED CREATURE!

I used Courageous Eyes for my card this week:

Admittedly, this is not my best coloring job, but don't you love this stamp?  It's wonderful.  =o )

I colored using Copics, and I didn't keep track of what colors I used.  That's what I get for zoning whilst coloring.

The sentiment comes with the image and it's great for inspirational occasions.

That's it!  Super quick post, I know.  We just got home from Dance class and now I need dinner!  *in my best Hulk voice* "'Cause you won't like me when I'm hungry!".  =o D

Now...get out ANY WINGED CREATURE and get crafty!  Link up your creation to the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge Blog to play along.

Copic's Fall Coloring Contest

Happy Thursday, Friends!

I'm not sure if you heard, but Copic is holding a Fall Coloring Contest!  It was posted a few weeks back.  I happened to be home sick at the time, so I went ahead and printed one out to color.  Head on over to the blog post for details.

Here is my entry:

I'm going to be honest.  I'm not sure what colors I used.  It was weeks ago and I was just grabbing markers (and my head was in an ill-ridden fog).  I'll do my best though:

Kitty:
Black: C1 - C9.  I know it's "illegal" to color critters with the cool grays, but I don't have a full set of warms or neutrals, and I like the way it turned out.
White: W1, W2, W4, W6
Eyes/Buckle: Y32, Y26, Y28.
Hat: V25, V04, V06, V09 (I think!)

Oh goodess, the pumpkins are varying oranges, browns, blacks, yellows, and reds. There are a lot of colors in those pumpkins!

The leaves were YG06, Y15, YR06, and E13(ish).

Thanks it!  Thanks for looking!

Some Odd Design Team Call

Hello Friends!

The wonderful kids over at Some Odd Girl Stamps are hosting a Design Team/Guest Design Team call.  I decided I needed to play along.  Who wouldn't be honored to be a part of such a groovy team?  I know I would!  I just love Some Odd Girl stamps.  We were asked why we would be a good addition to the team.  It's so hard to talk about yourself, isn't it?  That's the hardest part of my day job is when year-end reviews roll around and you have to "talk yourself up".  But, I digress...Why would I make a good Odd Girl?  Because I'm Odd!  I'm a heavy metal, nerdy, crafter.  I love Copics, World of Warcraft, Soilwork, Sons of Anarchy, Glee, and math.  =o )  I'm an Avionics Systems Engineer anywhere from 40-50 hours a week, a photographer on the occasional weekend job, and a full-time Mama of the most *ah-mazing* four year old princess.  [Seriously, she's my whole world.]  I really don't know what else to say.  I am what I am, and eccentric is the adjective used by most.  =o D

I'm showcasing three cards posted previously featuring Some Odd Girl Stamps.  For details on the creation of each, please click the link back to the original blog post.

Here we go!

The first is a fun card featuring Summer Kaylee:

I have a Kaylee addiction.  Which you'll see with my next "treasure" using Pirate Kaylee:

I like this card.  I love the burlap and I love love love Pirate Kaylee.  This is the card my Daddy got for his 62nd Birthday.  Ask me what the Harley ridin', Nascar Lovin', country boy thought about that!

Last but not least, one of my favorite cards to color using Unicorn Mae:

So, those are my three card!  I hope you like them!  I would like to give a HUGE shout out to the fantastic design team over at Some Odd Girl.  Thanks so much for the opportunity to be a part of your team!  Even more, thanks for inspiring us!

A Krafty Flutter By Wednesday

Hello Again Fluttery Friends!

Welcome back to another Fluttery Challenge!  Our task this week is to use Kraft paper.  I {puffy heart} Kraft paper.

I have another CAS card this week using just some simple butterflies:

The card base and pink are SU!'s Blushing Bride.  I have a layer of Recollections dark brown and then the top layer of Kraft.

The Kraft paper is embossed using Papertrey Ink's Hexagon die.  The butterflies are all Sizzix.  I added some pearls and diamond blings for some added shine.

That's it!  Like I said, simple!  Now, get out your butterflies or fairies and some Kraft paper.  Link up to the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge Blog to play along!

Here is my card using Summer Kaylee:

Another Odd Creation for World Card Making Day

Hello Again!

I have another card I made for World Card Making Day.  Ms. Unicorn Mae lost the coin toss, so her blog was posted second.  She's not mad about it though!

Here is my Unicorn Mae:

The card base is SU!'s confetti paper.  The blue plaid and polka dots are Recollections.  The brown is Kraft and the sentiment is stamped on the confetti.  I colored in the squiggles and dots on the layers.

I colored Ms. Mae using Copics:

Hair/Tail/Eyebrows: R81, R83, R85, B00, B02, B12, B14, YG01, YG06, YG07, YG09, YR00, YR04, YR06, YR09, Y00, Y11, Y15, Y18
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, BV01, R20, R22
Horn/Belt: Y32, Y26, Y28, E74, E77, E79, B00, B02
Body/Hooves: W1, W2, W3, W5, W6, W7, W8, W9, E74, E77, E79

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Beautiful Butterflies stamp set.  It's probably one of my favorite sentiments.  I stamped it using SU!'s Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, and Lucky Limeade.  Again, I just hand drew the squiggles and dots.  The twine is We R Memory Keepers.

The butterflies are punched out of Kraft paper using a Recollections punch, with some pearly blingies in the center.

And just in case you missed the last post:  Head on over to the Paper Issues Facebook Page for some World Card Making Day fun!

Some Odd World Card Making Day!

Hello Friends!

Today is world card making day!  How are you celebrating?  I actually have a few blogs to post today for cards I've been working on throughout the week.

Did you hear what's going on over at Paper Issues?!  In celebration of WCMD, they are throwin' out some love to one random person who posts any card on their Facebook Page!  Hop on over to the Paper Issues Facebook Page for all the details.  As if that weren't awesome enough, Kristy over at
Some Odd Girl is going to reward some random Paper Issues participant with digis!  You'd better start getting crafty!  You don't want to miss this!

Let's get down to my creation.  I had two to choose from, and I tossed a coin and landed on Pirate Kaylee:

I love Pirate Kaylee.  The card base is Papertrey Ink.  The diamond layer is Recollections and the map is Simple Stories (I added the "x marks the spot).  I found that ah-mazing key printed burlap at JoAnn's.  I love it.  I bought a whole yard of it.  Not sure how I'll ever use it all, but I'll find a way!

I colored Ms. Kaylee using Copics.  I'll do my best to remember which ones I used =o )

Hair: E71, E74, E77, E79
Skin\Eyes: E000, E00, E11, E13, BV01, R20, R22, B14, B12, B00
Clothes: B41, B24, B45, B97, B99 (That's the part I'm fuzzy on.  I was just grabbing blues and this is not my go to blue combo.  I should've written it down because I like how it turned out.)  Moving on...R81, R85, R39, C8, C7, C6, C5, C4
Chest/Sword: E55, E57, E59, E74, E77, E79, Y32, Y26, Y28

This keyhole is Tim Holtz.  I was so glad to finally have a good reason to use it!

I guess that's it!  Now, go grab a your fav Oddie stamp and get to stampin'!  Don't forget to link up to Paper Issues Facebook Page to play along.

A Sweet n' Sassy Flutter By Wednesday

Hello Fluttery Friends!

Another busy week in our house.  I don't know about you kids, but I have no concept of time anymore.  Yesterday someone asked me how old my daughter was, and I replied with, "She turned four about a week ago."  My friend gave me the 'you're insane' look and reminded me that she's been four now for over a month.  Seriously?!  Where does it all go?

That said, another week has flown by and here we are with another fantastic Flutterby Wednesday Challenge.  Our theme this week is Pixie Dust!  It means we get to make our cards shiny!!  For a Stickles addict like me, this is PERFECT!

We also have the pleasure of being sponsored by the wonderful Sweet n' Sassy stamps.  This week's winner could fine themselves the proud owner of three new digis from Sweet n. Sassy stamps!

I used CPS Sketch #285 for my card:

And here is the CPS Sketch:

I love this CAS sketch and it worked perfectly with Sweet n' Sassy Stamp's Everyday Miracles!

The card base is Papertrey Ink's True Black and the white is their Stamper's Select white.  I stamped the flourish from a pack of stamps I got when my favorite Papercrafting store went out of business [R.I.P. Memories on Fifth].  I don't know the manufacturer.  I covered the stamp Stampin' Up!'s More Mustard.  Then I just randomly spot inked Cajun Craze and Red Riding Hood before stamping it on the paper.

I printed out the digis and colored with Copics R27, YR09, and Y18.  Then I covered them in red, orange, and yellow stickles.

That it!  Get our your butterflies or fairies and show us your pixie dust!  Link up to the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge blog to play along and win a prize!
