Happy Birthday, Jennibug!

Last Tuesday was my Jennibug's birthday.  She's one of my bestest Iowa friends.  We met shortly after I moved here.  She even introduced me to my husband and was the Maid of Honor at our Wedding.

She forced me to read Hunger Games (which I did not enjoy, but I don't fault her for that).  We also play World of Warcraft and both of our main toons are Hunters.

Tomorrow we're celebrating her 31st birthday with our favorite Japanese grill, some bowling, and then off to see my beloved Drag Queens perform.  I had no clue what to do for a Jennibug Birthday card...

...that is, until I saw Saturated Canary's Gametime.

Perfect!  The current Saturated Canary Challenge is to use some office supplies, so I worked that in too.

Here is my card:

The card base is Kraft.  The background paper is FabScraps.

I colored Ms. Gametime using Copics:
Hair: E15, E17, E19, E77
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, R20, BV01, C3
Eyes/Lips: YG07, YG06, R81, R83
Clothes/Bow: W1, W2, W4, W6, E55, E7, E74, E77, E79, C8, B41, B24, B97, B99
Arrow: W2 base, E19, E77

I used the Tim Holtz Butterfly Edges die cut out from Kraft paper.  I distressed using Salty Ocean, Burlap, and Concord distress inks and applied crystal gems for the bellies.  I painted the edges using the Snowcap Paint Dabber.

The flower is from Cricut's Flower Shoppe cartridge using Tim Holtz paper.  Again, I painted the edges using the Snowcap Paint Dabber.  I'm not sure where the arrow is from, it was in the random bucket.

I cut out the tab using Papertrey Ink's Library die, distressed using Burlap distress ink, and stamped the Birthday sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Framed set.  Again, the paperclip is from the random bucket, but I think it Graphic 45.

That's it!  Thanks for looking!

Flutterby Wednesday: Anything Goes!

Hello Fluttery Friends,

Welcome to this week's Flutter By Wednesday Challenge.  Forgive me, but I'm going to keep this super short.  Between being super swamped, catching some wicked stomach bug, and the four-year old standing next to me waiting for me to braid her hair, I'm just out of time.

This week is anything goes at FBW and I, for one, am thankful for that for all of the reasons listed above.  =o )

Here is my card:

This adorable image is Connie Fong's Buttercup. The papers are all Stampin' Up! except for the white which is Papertrey Ink.

I colored her using Copics.

Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13
Hair: E21, E25, E29, E74
Clothes/Wings: BG000, BG13, BG29, R81, R85, R39, V000, V01, V04

Now it's your turn!  Get out your butterfly or fairy.  You have full creative control over what you make!  Link up to the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge Blog to play along.

A Bubbly Saturated Canary Challenge

Hello Friends,

I have to keep this short because it is waaaay passed my bedtime.

I decided to play along with this week's Saturated Canary Challenge.  The task is to use at least two B's.  I picked up Pearl awhile back and I haven't colored it because I'm intimidated by her hair.  I still am.  I had a grand plan for how this card and I'm not sure how it turned out, honestly.  I think I'll nail it next time.  Regardless,  here is what I came up with.  My B's are blue and bubbles.

I wanted to put her in water.  Then I wanted the water shiny.

I colored her using copics:
Hair: E21, E25, E29, E77
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, R20
Shells/Tail: BG000, BG13, BG49, V000, V01, V04, V06, V09

That's it!

Thanks for looking!

It's An Odd Day

Hello Friends,

It's an Odd day around here.  As part of Some Odd Girl Facebook Fun Day we were challenged to stamp and color on fabric.  Admittedly, I had a hard time with it.  Fabric is a touch adjustment for coloring.  I also used the Some Odd Girl Challenge Sketch to create my card:

The card base is Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select White cardstock.  The pattern papers are from DCWV's Whimsy pack.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Way To Go, Kiddo set and I stitched the layers together [I sewed! My husband was happy that I put my sewing machine to use!]

I printed Shy Kaylee on Tailor Sew In Colorfast Fabric Sheets and colored her up using Copics:
Hair: E15, E17, E19
Skin/Eyes: E000, E00, E11, E13, YG09, YG07, YG06
Clothes: RV10, RV13, RV14, V000, V01, V04

That it!

A Sketchy Flutterby Wednesday!

Hello, Fluttery Friends!

Welcome back to the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge.  This week we have a fantastic sketch created by none other than our very own fabulous Kathy.

As many of you know, last weekend was Scrapfest 2012.  I was not fortunate enough to go, but some good friends of mine were there.  This card was inspired by all of the random picture messages I got of Tim Holtz.  =o D

Here is the sketch:

Don't you love it?  Kathy did a great job. Now, on to the details:

The card base is Papertrey Ink's True Black cardstock.  The scalloped background is made from alternating papers out of a Tim Holtz paper pack using the Spellbinders Classic Scallop Edgeabilities. I stamped the background with music notes in Memento Black.

The ribbon is just classic white satin ribbon that I distressed using both the Frayed Burlap and Concord distress inks.  I made the flowers using the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge and pattern papers out of the same Tim Holtz paper pack. The brad in the center is Recollections and I have no clue where I got the little heart key.  It was in the random bucket.

The stamps are both from Unity Stamp Co.  I painted them up using my Snowcap paint Dabber and stamped them on a plain tag.  I dried the paint using a heat gun, then distressed the tag using Concord, Frayed Burlap, and Summer sky distress inks.  When I was done distressing, I used a wet paper towel to wipe the distress ink off of the white paint.

That's it, kids!  Your turn.  Get out your butterflies or fairies and use Kathy's sketch in your creation.  Link up to the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge blog to play along.

Color My Flutter By Challenge!

Hiya, Kids!

Welcome back to another Flutter By Wednesday Challenge!  This week we've been tasked with using our favorite color on our card.  How fun is that?!

...but that's not all!  Our challenge is being sponsored by Paper Makeup Stamps! This week's winner will find themselves the proud owner of a $15 gift card.

I used Paper Makeup Stamps' Isabella to make my card:

So, I admit it.  I cheated.  My favorite color is purple.  My favorite Copics, however, are my blue hues and I *love* the blue/white combination.  It's so clean!

The card base is Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select white cardstock.  The second layer is the same, but embossed using the Provo Craft polka dots embossing folder.

The flowers are Recollections and I colored our beautiful Isabella using Copics:
Hair: E51, E53, E55, E57, E59
Skin: E000, E01, E11, R20
Dress: B00, B02, BG05, BG07
Wings: B00, B000, B0000, and Waterfall Stickles!  That's right, kids!  Stickles are back!

The butterflies are from a combination of Sizzix dies and a recollections punch. I embossed using [once again] Recollections pearls.  Can you tell who uses their Michael's 40% off coupons?  [This girl!]

It's that time!  Get out your butterflies or fairies, pick out a favorite color, and link up to the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge to play along!  Who knows?  You might find yourself the lucky winner of your own Isabella!

Happy Flutter By Wednesday!

Welcome back to another Flutter By Wednesday challenge!  This week, got to create birthday cards!

I decided to keep it simple this week with a nice monochrome.

The card base is Papertrey Ink's True Black, and the white layer is PTI's Stamper's Select White.  The pattern papers are from DCWV's Alphabet Stack.  The separation between papers is Essentials Narrow Satin Ribbon.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Happiest Birthday Wishes set.  The bling is Recollections.

This die [which I love love love] is Memory Box.

Now it's your turn!  Grab your butterflies or fairies and get ready to wish a special someone a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Link up your creations to the Flutter By Wednesday challenge blog to play along.

U ROCK {my world}

I'm fortunate enough to get an extra day off this week for labor day.  My daughter is at school and I have free time.  Do you have any idea how weird this is?  I mean, I've had days off before, but I've always kept my kidlet with me.  She started preschool last week, and I *couldn't* keep her home because if I did...she'd miss school!  ....I still don't think I'm ok with it. Feeling a little lost, I decided to retire to my desk and busy myself.

A few weeks ago, Saturated Canary sponsored the Flutter By Wednesday challenge.  I instantly fell in love.  This morning, I came across the Saturated Canary Challenge!  w00t!  A distraction!

That said, I used CPS Sketch #281 to create a "Dotty" card for the latest Saturated Canary challenge:

Love her?!  Yes.I.DO!

The card base is Papertrey Ink's Stampers Select White cardstock.  The black dotties are Stampin' Up! and the pink dotties are from the scrap bin.  The lime green is Recollections.

I used Saturated Canary's Kitty.  I want her hoodie!  I may just have to see if I can find a pattern and sew my way through it.

I colored using Copics:
Hair: C1, C3, C5, C7, C9
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20, BV01
Clothes: C1, C2, R20, RV10, RV13, RV14.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Perfect Word set and the little skulls are from Jolee's Boutique.

So, there it is!  My first Saturated Canary challenge card.  Now....how do I entertain myself until 3:00?

Thanks for stopping by!
